Civil works and external works for government and community sites
DICE Contracting delivers civil and external works for government agencies, head contractors and community organisations, including site preparation, excavation, drainage and stormwater, hardstands, car parks, footpaths, kerb and gutter, fencing and landscaping.
- Excavation & earthworks
- Stormwater & drainage
- Concrete & pavements
- Kerb, gutter & footpaths
- Car parks & hardstand
- Fencing & external works
We own our plant: bobcats, excavators and tippers, alongside more than 20 service vehicles. That ownership is what lets us mobilise civil packages into regional and remote communities where hire fleets and civil subcontractors barely exist.
Most of our civil work sits inside a broader building or refurbishment scope, under the same head contract as the building itself.
Civil services we deliver
- Site establishment, clearing and preparation
- Bulk and detailed excavation, cut and fill, trenching
- Stormwater drainage, pits, pipework and detention systems
- Sewer and water connections, drainer and plumber licensed
- Concrete works: slabs, footings, footpaths, kerb and gutter, driveways
- Hardstands, car parks and access roads
- Fencing, security fencing, bollards and site furniture
- Landscaping, shade structures and external play areas
- Retaining walls, erosion and sediment control
- Service trenching and conduit installation for building projects
Civil works packages inside building projects
Putting external works, drainage, hardstand, car parking and landscaping under the same head contract as the building removes an interface and a subcontract for the client. The landscaping around the Port Macquarie Courthouse yarning circle is one example. The shade sails and playgrounds across the Aboriginal Child and Family Centres programme are another.
Environmental and cultural heritage management
Ground disturbance carries cultural heritage risk. We manage projects to safeguard cultural, heritage and environmental value, bringing in Traditional Owners and local Aboriginal Land Councils where the site warrants it, under an environmental management system aligned to AS/NZS ISO 14001.
Projects that prove it
Port Macquarie Courthouse Yarning Circle
As part of a sustainability and inclusion project, DICE Contracting consulted with the local Aboriginal community and constructed a new yarning circle with surrounding landscaping at Port Macquarie Courthouse for BGIS.
Aboriginal Child & Family Centres
DICE Contracting has delivered $2.2 million of upgrade and maintenance works across nine Aboriginal Child and Family Centres in NSW for NSW Family and Community Services, in an ongoing programme.
Civil Works: questions we get asked
Does DICE Contracting do civil works?

What civil plant does DICE Contracting own?

Building & Construction
Capital works, extensions, fitouts and security upgrades for government and community clients. Most of it happens on occupied, operational and secure sites.

03Project Management
Head contractor delivery, design and construct, and multi-site programme management, including heritage works and staging around live operations.
04Facilities Maintenance
Statutory, preventative and reactive maintenance across dispersed government property portfolios, including communities that have no specialist contractor market of their own.
06Carpentry & Joinery
Carpentry crews we employ directly. That is how we hold tight programmes on remediation work inside operating facilities.
