Aboriginal Child and Family Centres, NSW
DICE Contracting has delivered $2.2 million of upgrade and maintenance works across nine Aboriginal Child and Family Centres in NSW for NSW Family and Community Services, in an ongoing programme.
Scope of works
- Liaison with centre managers and local communities to identify each site’s needs
- Development of a preventative maintenance plan across all nine centres
- New therapy rooms
- Sensory playrooms
- Multi-media rooms
- Shade sails and new playgrounds
The constraint
Nine dispersed sites, many in regional and remote NSW where specialist contractors are scarce, all operating as child care facilities throughout.
Outcome
A preventative maintenance plan now spans the network, and upgrades were project managed around live care hours at every centre.
Indigenous participation
The programme was scoped in direct consultation with the Aboriginal communities each centre serves.
