We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include restricting access to our systems, using secured premises and applying access controls.
When personal information is no longer needed for any purpose for which it may lawfully be used, and we are not required by law to retain it, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.
Notifiable data breaches
If we suffer a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm to any individual whose personal information is involved, we will assess the breach and, where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under Part IIIC of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) requires it, notify the affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
